Letter to Applicants

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in the Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology at Illinois State University’s Student Counseling Services. We have placed our 2024-2025 Internship Brochure on our website to provide a detailed description of our training program and the information you will need to apply. We appreciate your interest and welcome your application.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, we will offer three full-time, 12-month internship positions and use the APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (the AAPI Online) and the APPIC Internship Matching Program for selection. The internship is for the calendar year August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025. We follow APPIC guidelines and abide by the policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant in our selection process. Our goal is select the best candidates whose goals and interests best match the training we provide.

In addition to receiving excellent training, the compensation for each position will be no less than $37,442. Other benefits include those associated with Administrative/ Professional status such as access to university facilities and services, medical/ dental/vision insurance, and a fully computerized office with LAN and INTERNET access and built-in audio/visual capability.

Our internship program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association until 2027. We are very committed to training and are very proud of the internship program as it has evolved over its 50 year history. After reviewing our training program, if your interests and goals match the training we provide, we invite you to submit your application.
