Self-Esteem and Happiness

Self-Esteem

At one point or another, most people struggle with feelings of low self worth. But what happens when these feelings drag on for months - or years?

Prolonged feelings of inadequacy, saying harsh, self-critical things to yourself, and feeling inferior to others can lead to depression, anxiety, poor motivation and performance, unhealthy relationships – and cause you to feel generally miserable.

Although it might be hard to see right now, you can change the way you think and feel about yourself. It is possible to feel happier, more confident in and proud of your abilities and to become more satisfied with yourself and your relationships.

If you feel you might be experiencing self esteem issues and want to talk to someone about it, call (309) 438-3655 or come directly to Room 320 of the Student Services Building to schedule an initial appointment.
