Make an Appointment

If you are like most people you will encounter a number of life events while at ISU that will leave you confused, anxious, angry or sad. While life situations often work themselves out, sometimes they linger and require assistance. The staff at SCS is well trained to help you with issues ranging from homesickness and relationship difficulties to concerns such as depression and anxiety. For these reasons and many, many more, you can turn to Student Counseling Services.

How to Make an Appointment

Call (309) 438-3655 or stop by room 320 of the Student Services Building to make an appointment. During your first appointment, a professional counselor will work with you to help you clarify your concerns and explore if ongoing counseling or other services are needed. Sometimes, due to special requirements for care, ineligibility for our services, or other reasons, you and the SCS counselor or consultant may decide that a referral to another agency or service provider would be most beneficial. The SCS counselor may suggest that you meet with our Clinical Case Manager.

Psychiatric consultations are also available to discuss issues related to medication.
